History
NANKO ENERGY S.A. was founded in 1999, as DIEKAT ENERGIA S.A. (Diekat Energy) a subsidiary of DIEKAT S.A. (Diekat).
In 2006 the company underwent significant transformation, changing its shareholder structure and rebranding to NANKO ENERGY S.A (Nanko).
Today, Nanko stands as a dynamic force in Greece's renewable energy sector, continually expanding its portfolio and operations.

1999

Construction of Lampeia SHPP in Ilia, the third private Small Hydroelectric Power Plant (SHPP) in Greece, boasting 1.3 MW

Diekat Energy collaborates with PPC RENEWABLES S.A. (PPCR) for the licensing, construction and operation of Small Hydroelectric Power Plants

2003

Commencement of construction of Katarraktis SHPP in Arta

2004

Commencement of construction of Agoriani SHPP in Fokida

2005

Katarraktis SHPP becomes operational, with a rated power of 2.4 MW

Diekat Energy and PPCR license and manufacture Gitani SHPP in Thesprotia, through the subsidiary GITANI S.A.

2006

Agoriani SHPP and Gitani SHPP commence their operations, with rated power of 1.9 MW and 4.2 MW respectively

Diekat Energy is acquired and renamed NANKO ENERGY S.A

Beginning of construction of Asprogeia SHPP in Florina and Mousda SHPP in Drama

2007

The company begins construction of Kriopigi SHPP in Arta

2008

Submission of request for a production license for Manikia SHPP in Evia with a rated power of 1.33MW

2009

Mousda SHPP and Kriopigi SHPP commence operations, with a rated power of 1.25 MW and 250 KW respectively

2010

Asprogeia SHPP becomes operational, with a rated power of 1.36 MW

Nanko receives production permits for 3 new SHPPs from RAE:

  • Giannitsi SHPP in Arta, with a rated power of 1.35 MW
  • Sminthis SHPP in Xanthi, with a rated power of 1.28 MW
  • Desi SHPP in Trikala, with a rated power of 1.57 MW

2011-2014

Focus shifts towards Operation and Maintenance services and licensing of owned projects

2014

NANKO receives a production permit for 4 Wind Parks.

  • Aetos 1 Wind Park in Florina, with a rated power of 24MW
  • Aetos 2 Wind Park in Florina, with a rated power of 24MW
  • Rogkakos Wind Park in Drama, with a rated power of 12MW
  • Trapezi - Kerasies Wind Park in Drama, with a rated power of 24MW

2018

NANKO receives a production permit for Pefkodasos Wind Park in Kilkis, with a rated power of 10 MW and Lavaro Wind Park in Florina, with a rated power of 18 MW.

2021

Nanko receives production permits for 3 SHPPs:

  • Nissis in Etoloakarnania, with a rated power of 1.3 MW
  • Theisoa in Arkadia, with a rated power of 5.00 MW and
  • Meristis in Fthiotida, with a rated power of 2.78 MW

The production license for Manikia SHPP, with rated power of 1.33 MW is issued by the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE)

2022

Nanko and TEAS S.A. form NATEGIA S.A., a joint venture for the construction of Giannitsi SHPP in Arta

2023

Nanko forms a joint venture with Messaritis Holdings S.M.S.A. creating the companies MENA PLATANOUSSA PLC and MENA KYPSELI PLC, for the licensing and construction of two projects:

  • Platanoussa SHPP in Ioannina, with a rated power of 0.68 MW
  • Kypseli SHPP in Arta, with a rated power of 1.18 MW
